Meet The Wines

  • Vinalia x Merayo,
    Mencía

    Spain, 2021

With a concentration and complexity hailing from the more than 80-year-old vines that yield this Mencía, the wine seduces with fragrant aromas of dried rose and tarragon. Full without ever feeling heavy, the wine’s soft, caressing tannins add body to its more delicate flavors of fresh strawberry and raspberry. The perfect red for the changing of the seasons that can be enjoyed with a gentle chill, or not—whatever you prefer.

  • Vinalia x Domaine Poiron-Dabin, Berligou

    France, 2019

Richer in tannin and fuller in spice and earth tones than one might expect from other clones of Pinot Noir, this Berligou immediately demonstrates its royal pedigree with an intricate mélange of fresh, violet pastille, and forest floor notes that evoke the crunch of fallen leaves. Complex and long, yet elegant and deceptively inviting, this Berligou is as refreshing in the summer as it is comforting underneath a blanket, curled up against the fire.

  • Vinalia x Tóth Ferenc,
    Egri Csillag Superior

    Hungary, 2022

The flagship white blend of the Eger region, this Egri Csillag offers charming and gentle floral aromas of acacia blossom and honeysuckle. The wine continues with ripe orchard fruit flavors—yellow apple skin, cantaloupe, ripe pear, and white peach. Concentrated and complex in its herbaceous thyme and tarragon notes, it shows its aging potential in a piercing acidity that elongates the finish.

  • Vinalia x Cave Spring, Riesling

    Canada, 2020

With laser-like precision and luminous, beaming acidity, this Riesling from Cave Spring is the quintessential expression of Canada’s Niagara Peninsula. Notes of citrus oil, frozen pear, and rounded river rocks encapsulate the wine’s crystalline purity. At once light and refreshing, while also concentrated and complex, the wine’s brightness and great length make this a Riesling for all seasons.

  • Vinalia x Marof, Rdeče

    Slovenia, 2017

While fresh and laden with crunchy berry flavors, this Slovenian red blend is deceptively structured, ageworthy, and complex, revealing itself in time. You get all the classic earthiness that Blaufränkisch always delivers with notes of fallen leaves, fresh soil after the rain, paprika and soft spices. The splash of Cabernet adds some extra herbaceousness—tobacco, pencil shavings, graphite—as well as some tannic muscle.

  • Vinalia x Fausti, Rosso Piceno

    Italy, 2020

The quintessential pizza wine, this Montepulciano tastes of fresh Bing
cherries and red plums, along with a more rustic earthiness—dried oregano, underbrush, and subtle cured meat flavor from the Syrah. Charming and medium-bodied, the wine is approachable, but also features a sandy tannic grip that gives it length and ageability.

  • CAVE SPRING

Cave Spring Vineyard, a pioneer in the wine industry, has spent over four decades honing its reputation for creating wines that truly capture the essence of their vineyards. With a commitment to sustainability and strict industry standards, Cave Spring Vineyard has distinguished itself as a producer of high-quality wines. Led by Len Pennachetti, the co-founder of Vintners Quality Alliance (VQA), Cave Spring has played a crucial role in establishing Niagara Peninsula as a recognized wine region.

  • MERAYO

With an unwavering commitment to winemaking, the Merayo family proudly holds deep-rooted connections in the world of wine. They served as proprietors of Bodegas Merayo, one of the region's most distinguished wineries until 1989. In response to the changing times of the late 1990s, the family made a resolute decision to reclaim their roots. In 2010, Pedro Merayo founded Bodegas y Viñedos Merayos and resumed winemaking on their ancestral estate, marking the culmination of two decades dedicated to the recovery and maintenance of his vineyards.

  • FAUSTI

In 1997, Cristina Fausti's dream of an organic, modern winery alongside her family’s Marche vineyard gave birth to Fausti. With winemaker Domenico D’Angelo sharing her reverence for the land, they founded the venture. Fausti's home in Fermo, rich with viticultural history, features vineyards beside a medievaltower adorned with the Matteucci family’s coat of arms—a nod to local grape-growing's heritage. Guided by principles of harmony, biodiversity, and
nature's influence, Cristina and Domenico continue crafting wines that echo the region's story.

  • DOMAINE POIRON-DABIN

With nearly two centuries of winegrowing under their belt, the Poiron-Dabin family’s roots in the Loire Valley run deep. The family’s history as vignerons is documented as early as 1858, though it remains likely that their experience in the area extends back further. The modern winery traces its origins to the marriage of Jean Poiron to Thérèse Dabin in 1962. Jean and Thérèse each retired around the turn of the millennium, passing the baton to their two sons, who continue to steward the estate today.

  • MAROF

Among the most celebrated wineries in Eastern Slovenia, Marof is also perhaps the most ambitious in the Prekmurje region and its Goričko subzone. The winery is a collaboration between founder Stanko Polanič, who dreamed of demonstrating the tremendous potential of this long overlooked region, and Uroš Valcl, who grew up in his mother’s vineyard and joined Marof in 2009 for its third vintage. Valcl and Polanič steward their land with a gentle hand, seeking minimal intervention in the vineyard and cellar, where they focus on both native Slovenian and international grape varieties.

  • TÓTH FERENC

Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2023, Tóth Ferenc Winery is a testament to the unwavering passion and dedication of its founders, Tóth Ferenc (affectionately known as Uncle Feri) and his wife. Their journey from ordinary jobs to esteemed winegrowers began in the early 80s, culminating in the establishment of the Áfrika Vineyard. Feri stood at the forefront in the 2000s, advocating for the cultivation of rare grape varieties like Kadarka and Leányka in the Eger region. The next generation, represented by Ferenc’s daughter Katalin and son-in-law Zoltán, joined hands in 2005, helping to extend the winery’s cave system, modernize the tasting room, and increase vineyard holdings in Eger’s prime sites.
